§ 26-19. Fire calls outside corporate limits.

  • The town shall provide fire protection services outside the town limits in order to:

    (1)

    Protect the property owned by the county outside the corporate limits of the town without any specified distance from the town fire station, providing such call does not jeopardize the safety of property or persons within the corporate limits of the town.

    (2)

    Protect property owned by another municipality outside the corporate limits of the town without specified distance from the town fire station, providing such call does not jeopardize the safety of property or persons within the corporate limits of the town.

    (3)

    Protect public buildings such as churches and community buildings outside the corporate limits of the town without specified distance from the town fire station, providing such call does not jeopardize the safety of persons within the corporate limits of the town.

    (4)

    Assist any municipality that calls for help, providing that the assistance is in the limits of that town or, if outside town limits, that the property is owned by that town or when human life is involved or it involves a public building.
